Jay & Amanda - December 27, 2008
Jay & Amanda's Completed Story

There is something to be said for love that develops from friendship. Suzanne and I were friends time before we started dating and eventually married. Maybe that's why Jay and Amanda's story rings so true to me.

Society has placed so much strife around marriage, and set us up to be enemies rather than friends. It's always great to see a reminder that marriage is just a natural extension of a deep lasting friendship. I want to thank Jay and Amanda for letting us be a part of their story, and for reminding us the power that friendship in marriage can have.

Take a look at their finished love story, we hope you enjoy their journey, and the lessons we can all learn about keeping your marriage fun and loving.

New Trailer

65 Degrees, two days after Christmas, Only in GA. But it sure made for some great shots outside of the historic Fayetteville courthouse.

The "Magic Hour" shots we got of Amanda and the bridesmaids were just perfect. This cinematic trailer has many shots cutting to and from the church. The editorial decision was driven by this core component to their story. Since they both met at this church, and served on some of the short term missions trips together, this building has truly played a vital role in their marriage. The trailer hopefully captures the past and present reality of what this church means in their lives.

We also had an opportunity to work with a truly fantastic photography duo, Anna & Spencer Clark. They were such a pleasure to work with, very helpful, knowledgeable about their craft, and on top of it all they do simply fantastic work. Take a look at their website, and check out their blog where you can see photos from the Karwisch / Page Wedding. I hope to be able to work with them again in the future.

A first for friends and for us.

This was a very exciting weekend for both our couple, and for the Three Ring Media team.

Amanda & Jay grew up together, became best friends, and fell in love. Their wedding, eleven years in the making, took place on Saturday at Fayetteville First UMC, right across from the historic Fayette County courthouse.

It was a beautiful warm December day, filled with excitement and joy. But the excitement for us went beyond the beautiful story unfolding before us. We attempted something that we have never done before, a Same Day Edit.

A Same Day Edit is typically a quick synopsis of the wedding day, edited in its entirety before the end of the reception. While this is an amazing feat for any videographer to accomplish, I never understood the benefit of it for the guests and bridal party. Since they were all at the wedding and just witnessed the events of the day, I can see no value for them to watch it all again. So we planned a way to incorporate the important elements of the couple's story into a piece that not only highlights the beauty of the wedding day, but also gives the guests a unique perspective of the couple's love story, and may go as far as teaching them something about their journey.

To do this with Jay and Amanda, we shot their interviews just before the reception on Friday night. Editing feverishly through Saturday afternoon we were able to create a short four minute piece to show at the reception, as a surprise to the couple, and to the guests.

So take a look at our version of a Same Day Edit. The entire story video will be coming shortly.
